Meet Emma Walker, Founder
I have been a celebrated Chief Executive, and I've also been bullied out of my job. I'm a whistleblower, having raised concerns about workplace abuse and trauma within a UK political party (Scottish Liberal Democrats & Liberal Democrats), but I also have two non-disclosure agreements from previous employers.

I understand the complex, multi-layered nature of making a complaint when you have been wronged, and how personal circumstances often impact on your ability to fight for the right to be heard.

Over the last decade I have supported more than 800 women to work out what the best option is for them when they have been harmed by an organisation. I have written grievance statements, signposted complainants to lawyers and have bore witness to their experiences.

I have worked with organisations across a range of sectors, leading investigations and reviewing outcomes. I have trained hundreds of women on increasing their confidence, being safe at work, speaking up safely, and much more.

Get in touch today for a confidential chat to find out how I can help you.

Vision
To create a world where women who have been harmed are always heard.
People first. Always.
Change The Chat does not place money, reputation, status, power or 'the party' over or above human beings. We exist to ensure that everyone is safe from harm. If you can't afford a session, if you're a man who has been hurt at work, if you don't know where to turn...talk to us. You're not alone.

We care for all humans.
We don't debate their rights...or their existence.
We love a good debate at Change The Chat. We'll discuss just about any topic. Except for one thing...

We don't chat about the rights of folks to live their life free from abuse. We are informed by an intersectional framework which recognises and interrogates transphobia, ableism, misogynoir, homophobia and the experiences of marginalised communities.

I don't blow smoke up arses...
including my own.
Change The Chat was founded by Emma Walker in 2019, and carries on the work of a previous project, Mother's Work. Emma has predominantly given her time for free to help the cause of women's safety. As of May 2025, Emma is building an organisation from the project.

Where you see "we" being referenced across the website, it's a reference to the organisation and the people supported, but is not an indication that Change The Chat is a giant enterprise.

There are too many women being taken in by scammers who pretend they're a bigger entity than they are. It's important to be upfront about this. Emma is a sole trader, with big ambitions for women's voices.
